2026 CHILDREN’S DAY KEPMA GUITAR
Music is a universal language.
For the Jiarong Tibetan children of Aba, Sichuan, who grew up listening to mountain songs and dancing Guozhuang
music feels less like something learned and more like an instinct they were born with — something that has long flowed quietly through their blood and breath.
This Children’s Day, let us turn our attention to Zhuokeji Central School in Aba Prefecture, Sichuan
and see what kinds of sounds and stories a guitar can create with these children.
A Shared Vision: An Instant Connection Through Music
Allowing the seeds of music to take root and grow across a broader land is both the hope of Zhuokeji Central School and a direction Kepma has always remained committed to.
When the school expressed its wish to open a guitar interest class, Kepma Guitar, which has long been dedicated to promoting and popularizing guitar culture, responded almost without hesitation. The two sides quickly found common ground, and Kepma donated a batch of 36-inch teaching guitars to the children.
Today, under the guidance of their teachers, the students have begun learning guitar in a structured way. From getting to know the strings and basic fingerings, to repeatedly practicing the “53231323” pattern, and then to playing Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star in full, the children’s progress is clearly visible. Their anticipation for the weekly guitar class has also continued to grow.
For this year’s Children’s Day performance, the school specially prepared a chorus program titled The Mountains, accompanied by live guitar performance. The children responded with great enthusiasm.
Natural Musicality: When Guitar Meets Innate Talent
The Jiarong Tibetan children seem to carry within them the vastness of snowy mountains and high plateaus.
They have a natural sensitivity to melody and rhythm, and their perception of music is delicate and sincere.
When the guitar — an instrument rich in melody and expression — meets these children who seem to possess an innate “musical gene,” a subtle and wonderful chemistry begins to emerge.
Here, the guitar is not merely a tool used to “teach” something. Instead, it is more like a key that unlocks talent.
As their fingertips gently pluck the strings and the wooden resonance unfolds, the children’s purest musical instincts are naturally released through each note.
Between the guitar and these children, there seems to be an unspoken connection that has existed from the very beginning.
The teacher in charge of guitar instruction told us:
“The best music education is not about instilling knowledge, but about giving children the opportunity to encounter beauty. When they truly feel the joy of mastering an instrument, the seed of music has already begun to sprout.”
The Joy of Touching the Strings: Bringing Music Back to Its Purest Form
The moment the children first placed their fingers on the strings, the light in their eyes could not be hidden.
From their first hesitant plucks to the clear sound of chords gently echoing through the classroom, the vibration of the strings was like a small stone falling into a lake, quietly lighting up ripples in their hearts.
For them, picking up a guitar is not only about learning a new skill. It is also like discovering a new way to speak with the world — and with themselves.
Kepma is honored to witness this pure joy.
Our Vision: Helping More Children Play Their Own Rhythm
——
Whether in a bustling city or among mountains and high plateaus, every soul that loves music deserves to be treated with gentleness.
On this special day that belongs to children, Kepma hopes that every pair of young hands gently plucking the strings will, in the years ahead, play a rhythm of their own and sound out a life melody that is truly unique.
Happy Children’s Day
