YEMIN WANG,a fingerstyle guitarist born in Shanghai, China, currently residing in Kyoto, Japan. In 2023, he won the championship and the Best Original Composition Award at Japan’s national fingerpicking guitar competition “Morris Fingerpicking Contest”. His music, with its vibrant worldview and beautifully sorrowful melodies, has won the hearts of many music lovers. He is currently active in both Japan and China and aims to introduce oriental guitar music to a broader audience.
Profile:
In 2014, he moved to Japan for further study after achieved a Bachelor’s degree in law in China.
In 2016, he received a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Doshisha University in Kyoto. That same year, he won the 1st place in the Western Japan Preliminary Contest of Morris Fingerpicking Contest and won the Best Original Composition Award in the national finals.
In 2018, he released his first original solo guitar album and was invited to perform at the Tokyo Handmade Guitar Festival, as well as demonstrate at “Music China” the international musical instrument exhibition in Shanghai.
In 2019, he embarked on his first solo tour in China.
In 2023, he won the championship and the Best Original Composition Award at Morris Fingerpicking Contest.
In 2024, he released his second album and embark on another a national tour across China.
